Andorra is a microstate in the Pyrenees between France and Spain and has a beautiful alpine landscape. From our road trip in Northern Spain we visited Andorra and stayed for three nights before we continued our journey back to Spain (all the way to Finisterra).
If you happen to be en the area of the Northeast coast, we highly recommend to go to Andorra, as its an amazing place with high, steep mountains and long deep valleys. If get off the main motorways you will find winding roads going over the mountain from one valley to another, giving astonishing views along the way. Its nature and landscapes reminded us of some parts of Norway, country in which we reside.
Couple of things might worth mentioning is that Andorra does not follow the European “roam like home” rule so expect higher prices for data usage on your mobile phone (our offer was 5 Euro for 5 MB, no kidding!) Also, If you travel there off season, you will see many villages are deserted and establishments closed. However, you can always find great commerce and streets full of life in Andorra La Vieja and its surroundings.
This is part one of our impressions, part two will follow next week.
Thanks for visiting!
