Selected photos from our trip in Northern Spain, part I

A couple of years ago we had an astonishing round trip in Northern Spain, starting in Barcelona up to Figueres, to the birthplace of Salvador Dalí and further to the lighthouse at Cabo de Creus. From there we went up to Andorra, unfortunately it was raining most of the driving, so not many photos from this stretch.

After some amazing days in Andorra we drove to Pamplona, using mostly smaller roads to experience more of the nature and stay more up in the Pyrenees. From Pamplona we chose to stay more inland as we were going west, as it was heavy rain showers at the northern coast. Our trip then went to Burgos via Lugo and to Santiago de Compostela, before we drove out to Cape Finisterre lighthouse. We then turned north to La Coruña and followed to northern coast east, still on the smaller roads, before we turned a bit more inland to catch the massive Picos de Europa and back to the coast again to go to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. From there we went almost to the border of France and to the Witch’s Cave of Zugarramurdi, before we tried to stay on the smaller roads up in the Pyrenees most of the time back to Barcelona.

If you are interested in more than scorching hot sun and crowded beaches, seriously consider a trip to Northern Spain. You won’t regret it!

Difficult to choose from thousands of photos, so here are part I of some selected photos from this round trip, from Barcelona to Cape Finisterre this time. Part II coming soon!
